Guatemalan private university in Guatemala City, founded in 1966 and grown out of the American School of Guatemala, with campuses at Altiplano in Sololá and at Sur in Escuintla. Teaches through faculties of sciences and humanities with chemistry, biochemistry, biology and food science, engineering with biomedical, chemical and industrial engineering and social sciences, and carries out research through its Centre for Health Studies on infectious disease, vaccines and epidemiology in partnership with international health agencies, together with laboratories in food and environmental analysis.
