Thymopentin (TP-5, CAS 69558-55-0) is a synthetic pentapeptide derivative of the thymic hormone thymopoietin, corresponding to fragment 32-36 (sequence H-Arg-Lys-Asp-Val-Tyr-OH, acetate salt), with a molecular weight of about 679.77 g/mol and formula C30H49N9O9; it should be stored long-term at -20 +/- 5 degC. It has immunoregulatory activity, with AIDS cited as a potential, not yet approved, application area.
