I am a researcher and laboratory professional with a multidisciplinary academic background in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Immunology. My academic and professional journey has been driven by a strong interest in understanding the molecular and biochemical mechanisms underlying human health and disease, as well as translating scientific knowledge into practical applications in diagnostics, research, and healthcare. I earned a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, which provided me with a solid foundation in clinical laboratory sciences, diagnostic methodologies, microbiology, pathology, hematology, immunology, and clinical biochemistry. Building upon this foundation, I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology, where I developed a deeper understanding of cellular processes, molecular interactions, genetic regulation, metabolic pathways, and experimental research methodologies. To further strengthen my research expertise, I completed a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. My graduate studies enhanced my knowledge of molecular mechanisms of disease, advanced laboratory techniques, biomarker discovery, genetic polymorphisms, and translational biomedical research. I am also pursuing advanced studies in Immunology, expanding my understanding of immune responses, immunopathology, host-pathogen interactions, and immunological approaches to disease prevention and treatment. My research interests encompass a broad range of topics within biomedical sciences, including diabetes mellitus, metabolic disorders, genetic polymorphisms, molecular biomarkers, immunology, clinical biochemistry, and translational medicine. I am particularly interested in investigating the molecular and genetic factors that contribute to chronic diseases and in identifying biomarkers that can improve disease diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic outcomes. My research experience includes work on the association of genetic polymorphisms with metabolic disorders, especially the role of CAPN10 gene polymorphisms in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and their relationship with hyperlipidemia and biochemical parameters. Through these studies, I have gained valuable experience in research design, sample collection, laboratory analysis, statistical interpretation, scientific writing, and data presentation. In addition to academic research, I have extensive experience in clinical and molecular laboratory settings. I have worked with a variety of diagnostic and research techniques, including nucleic acid extraction, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), real-time PCR (RT-PCR), molecular diagnostics, biochemical assays, immunological testing, laboratory quality assurance, instrument calibration, and laboratory safety management. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I was actively involved in molecular diagnostic activities, including RT-PCR testing, laboratory workflow management, quality control procedures, and technical training activities. My professional interests extend beyond laboratory diagnostics to include scientific communication, research methodology, laboratory quality management systems, and capacity building in laboratory sciences. I strongly believe that high-quality laboratory practices and evidence-based research are essential for improving healthcare outcomes and advancing scientific knowledge.
