Bio

Previous research roles: I am currently working in clinical trial coordination at Newcastle Clinical Trials Unit (NCTU), supporting CTIMP studies including COBALT and HAPLO. My work involves study set-up and delivery, site communication, safety inbox management, SAE reporting pathways, consent and eligibility documentation checks, delegation and training records, database queries, central monitoring support, and trial oversight activities. I previously worked as a Research and Development Officer at University Hospitals of Northamptonshire (UHN), where I supported a portfolio of more than 30 research studies, including around 20–25 actively recruiting studies. My role included capacity and capability review, EDGE updates, document localisation, sponsor communication, amendment processing, GCP/CV checks, research governance support, and liaison with research nurses and support departments such as pharmacy, radiology, pathology and laboratories. Before this, I worked as a Clinical Trials Coordinator at Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit (CCTU), supporting NIHR/UKRI-funded multi-site trials including DIVO, ReVISE and RECEDE. My responsibilities covered several parts of the trial life cycle, including site set-up, amendments, regulatory submissions, recruitment tracking, data validation, database query management, Trial Master File activities, monitoring preparation, newsletters, funder reporting and stakeholder communication. I have hands-on experience with clinical research databases and systems including REDCap, Sealed Envelope, MACRO, EDGE and CPMS. I have also used Excel and Power BI to develop trackers, dashboards and reporting tools for recruitment, site performance, data quality, staff credentials and study milestones. Across my roles, I have worked closely with Chief Investigators, Trial Managers, Principal Investigators, research nurses, sponsors, NHS R&D teams, vendors and multidisciplinary clinical research teams. My academic background includes a BSc in Pharmacy and an MSc in Public Health. My MSc dissertation focused on type 2 diabetes and involved a systematic review and meta-analysis evaluating telemedicine interventions for improving HbA1c control. I also have previous diabetes patient support programme experience with Eli Lilly and AstraZeneca, including patient education, adherence support, outcome tracking and lifestyle-related education around diabetes management.
