British university in Worcester in the west midlands, founded in 1946 as an emergency teacher training college and given university status in 2005. Teaches through its School of Science and the Environment with biological sciences, biochemistry and forensic and applied biology, its Three Counties School of Nursing and Midwifery, allied health with physiotherapy, occupational therapy and paramedic science and sport and exercise science, and carries out research in pollen and allergy through the National Pollen and Aerobiology Research Unit, dementia care and human performance with its own laboratories.
