American public research university at Newark in Delaware, whose origins go back to 1743 and which is the state's largest university. Its Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering is known for work on biopharmaceutical manufacturing, protein and antibody processing and separations, and the university hosts the National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals, a public private institute working on biologics manufacturing, alongside colleges of health sciences with pharmaceutical sciences and nursing teaching, chemistry and biochemistry and its own analytical and bioimaging facilities.
