American private university at Pittsford near Rochester in New York, founded in 1924 as a Catholic women's college and now independent and coeducational. Teaches through its School of Health and Human Services with nursing, physical and occupational therapy, speech language pathology, social work and public health, and its College of Arts and Sciences with chemistry, biochemistry and biology, and runs its own teaching clinics for its health programmes and laboratories for the sciences.
