Indian research institute at Kalyani in Nadia district, West Bengal, established in 2009 by the Department of Biotechnology and now part of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council, the country's first institute devoted to biomedical genomics. Carries out research in cancer genomics including the Indian contribution to international cancer genome work, human population and disease genomics, infectious disease and host genomics and computational biology, runs sequencing, genotyping and bioinformatics facilities and teaches doctoral and master's programmes in biomedical genomics.
