South African non-profit pharmaceutical manufacturer at Pinetown near Durban in KwaZulu-Natal, founded in 1994, which runs the only specialised plasma fractionation plant in Africa. Collects and fractionates human plasma to make medicinal products including albumin, immunoglobulins, clotting factors and anti-D and other hyperimmune preparations, produces diagnostic antibodies and blood grouping reagents, and works to international good manufacturing practice with its own quality control laboratories and pharmacovigilance for its products.
