Islamic Azad University

Iranian private university system founded in 1982 with its central organisation in Tehran, the largest university in the country and one of the largest in the world, made up of hundreds of branches and centres across Iran and abroad. Teaches medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, veterinary medicine, basic sciences and engineering at its larger branches, runs its own hospitals, teaching clinics and research institutes, and publishes a large body of research in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology and engineering through its branch laboratories.
