Spanish pharmaceutical company at Leioa in Bizkaia in the Basque Country, founded in 1933 and listed on the Spanish stock exchange. Researches, makes and sells prescription and consumer medicines, best known for the antihistamine bilastine, discovered in its own laboratories and licensed to partners worldwide, and for calcifediol sold as Hidroferol, together with respiratory, dermatology and gynaecology products, and it also runs an animal health and nutrition business and exports through licensing agreements to many countries.
