Department of biomedical sciences in the School of Medicine of Debre Markos University in the Amhara region of Ethiopia, part of a public university founded in 2005 out of an earlier teacher training college. Teaches anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, medical microbiology, pathology and pharmacology to medical, nursing and health science students, runs its own teaching laboratories and takes part in research on infectious disease, nutrition and public health with the university's referral hospital.
