Indian government engineering college at Sindri in Dhanbad district, Jharkhand, founded in 1949 and one of the oldest engineering colleges in eastern India, run under the state technical education department. Teaches bachelor and master programmes in chemical engineering, metallurgy, mechanical, electrical, civil, electronics and production engineering, and runs its own laboratories and workshops with industrial training and research links to the fertiliser, steel and mining industry of the region.
