Swiss biomedical engineering research centre of the University of Bern, founded in 2008 and named for artificial organs, working closely with the Inselspital university hospital. Runs research laboratories in cardiovascular engineering, artificial organs and organ support, image guided therapy and surgical robotics, musculoskeletal biomechanics, ophthalmic technology, gerontechnology and rehabilitation and medical image analysis and artificial intelligence, teaches a master's programme in biomedical engineering and works with medical device companies on translation and clinical studies.
